RHS Chelsea Flower Show ‘Plant of the Year’ 2021

In 2021, we proudly had three of our Salvia varieties shortlisted for the prestigious RHS Chelsea Flower Show ‘Plant of the Year’ award. The nominated plants were Salvia microphylla ‘Delice Aquamarine,’ Salvia ‘Delice Gold and Wine,’ and Salvia microphylla ‘Anduus.’

1. Salvia microphylla ‘Delice Aquamarine’

– This stunning new variety, bred by Jan Debusschere from Assebroek (Belgium), boasts a long flowering period starting from May.
– Featuring pale-blue flowers, it is suitable for both gardens and pots.
– Introduced in 2020, it is anticipated to become a favorite among collectors.

2. Salvia ‘Delice Gold and Wine’

– Bred by Jan Debusschere from Assebroek (Belgium), this variety exhibits bicolored flowers, transitioning from pink to a subtle white lip.
– Suitable for gardens and pots, its beautiful colors make it an eye-catching addition to herbaceous borders of summer flowers.
– Introduced in 2020.

3. Salvia microphylla ‘Anduus’

– Another striking new variety by Jan Debusschere, ‘Anduus’ shares a long flowering period from May onwards and produces pale-blue flowers.
– Like ‘Delice Aquamarine,’ it is well-suited for both gardens and pots.
– Also introduced in 2020.

While we did not secure the RHS Chelsea Flower Show ‘Plant of the Year 2021’ award, we were honored to be nominated in our inaugural year at the Chelsea Flower Show. The award was bestowed upon Cercis canadensis ‘ETERNAL FLAME.’
